Whether you are seeking inner healing, insight about the "why" behind your behaviors, thoughts, and feelings, or you're looking for support and encouragement to become more aligned with who you want to be, counseling can be an incredible resource for you. I primarily employ a psychodynamic orientation in therapy, considering someone's life story as a whole in helping them understand their emotional, mental, and behavioral dynamics in the present. As needed, I employ other therapeutic orientations such as Attachment-Based Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, etc. Additionally, I am EMDR-trained. EMDR is an evidence based treatment which promotes healing from traumatic/disturbing memories and experiences. I have experience working with those suffering from depression and anxiety, parents with young children, those with a history of sexual or emotional abuse, those experiencing postpartum issues (PPD, PPA), those suffering from obsessive thoughts and/or compulsive behaviors, and those who have traumatic or disturbing memories in their past. By shedding light on the darkness that seems to overwhelm us at times, we can begin a journey of self-knowledge that leads to resilience, mental clarity, and joy.
